Location: Onsite Employee Health Screening Events (Various Corporate/Company/Employer locations)

Position Type: Casual, PRN (As Needed)

Schedule: Flexible - Sign up based on your availability. Events can be a few hours up to 8+, ranging from 1 day to multiple day events, but you choose which days you are available for!

Pay: Hourly for events, travel and training. Rates vary based on your role, primary location, and experience. Mileage or personal car reimbursement, car rental options, flights and hotels, all arranged and covered by Health Advocate *Details vary based on event assignments.

Travel Details: Local travel primarily (75%) with the option for longer travel (25%) if accepted.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Health Screener to conduct biometric health screenings and blood draw screenings at various client worksites. The Health Screener will be responsible for performing clinical assessments, including capillary/ finger stick blood testing, blood pressure measurements, and biometric testing, while maintaining a high standard of patient care and confidentiality. This is a PRN position with flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work across various locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current medical certification/ licensure in one of the following:
  • EMT
  • Paramedic
  • Phlebotomist
  • Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Not-Listed Health Certification, case by case considerations are made depending on the type and experience.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN or BSN)
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in health screenings or a related clinical field.
  • Proficiency in fingerstick blood collection.
  • Proficiency in manual blood pressure measurement.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and strict adherence to PHI security.
  • Strong professional presentation and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as needed.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure efficient event flow.
  • Preferably CPR Certified

Key Responsibilities *Not an all-inclusive list:

  1. Blood Collection: Perform fingerstick collection using standard clinical methods for analysis. Ensure all blood collection is conducted safely and accurately.
  2. Biometric Assessments: Measure and record height, weight, BMI, and waist circumference for client employees as part of their health screening. Perform manual blood pressure measurement and record results accurately.
  3. Health Documentation and Privacy: Accurately document all health screening results and patient information promptly using electronic documentation on tablet provided for the event. Ensure the confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) and strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  4. OSHA and Health Standards: Follow all OSHA guidelines for proper biohazard disposal, ensuring all materials and waste are managed in accordance with safety standards. Follow infection control procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE such as gloves and masks, when required/necessary.
  5. Customer Experience: Ensure a positive, efficient, and professional health screening experience for each participant. Address any concerns or questions regarding their results or the screening process.
  6. Escalation and Support: Escalate any issues or concerns to the Onsite Coordinator for timely resolution. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the screening event.
  7. Event Setup and Cleanup: Set up screening stations at the worksite prior to the event and ensure proper layout for efficient workflow. Perform event cleanup after screenings, ensuring the area is left clean, organized, and free of biohazardous materials.
  8. Maintain Availability: Keep your availability updated in the staffing portal to ensure proper scheduling and selection for events.
  9. Follow policy and procedures- Outlined for working events and those in preparation for events, including completing required training and staying in compliance on any required personal professional licensure/certifications.
  10. Communication- Have a professional presenting email address. Most communication is sent to your email, and it is required to review all communication/updates from Health Advocate to stay up to date on job requirements.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and assist with setup and cleanup.
  • Job requires the ability to stand for long periods and bend during testing activities.
